Glass House Mountains Conservation Park

Get further off the beaten path and explore part of the old Caboolture to Kilcoy railway rail in Glass House Mountains Conservation Park.

In addition to the fully paved shared path between Caboolture and Wamuran, remnants of the rail trail can also be easily located in the Beerburrum West State Forest, which encompasses Glass House Mountains Conservation Park located adjacent to the D’Aguilar Highway in the suburb of Bracalba. Access points are on Raaen Road, Bracalba and at the end of Mylett Street, Bracalba. This 5km section of trail is mostly compacted gravel and soil and really only suitable for mountain bikes or gravel bikes.

It is possible to ride from the end of the shared path in Wamuran, to the start of the trail at Mylett Street along quite back roads (Station Road and Gamgee Road), except the last 900m requires that you join the traffic on the D’Aguilar Highway, which is not for the faint-hearted.

As an alternative, you can ride from the Wamuran end of the Caboolture-Wamuran Rail Trail, down nearby Newlands Road and follow the signs to the Shared Trail down O'Shea Road. It's approximtely 4km to the entrance to the State Forest and the bike trails that will lead to the Rail Trail. There is also a grassy carpark at this location, if you prefer to drive.
